Popup Analytics & Insights

Understanding how your popups perform is essential for optimizing visitor engagement and driving conversions. Popify provides comprehensive analytics to help you track and measure the effectiveness of your popup campaigns.

Overview Dashboard

When you first access your Popify dashboard, you'll see key performance metrics at a glance:

Popup Views - The total number of times your popups have been displayed to visitors

Active Popups - The number of popups currently running on your store

Total Clicks - How many times visitors have clicked on elements within your popups

Total Hovers - The number of times visitors have hovered over your popup elements

All metrics start at 0 when you create your account and update in real-time as visitors interact with your popups.

Accessing Detailed Analytics

To view detailed performance data for individual popups:

  1. Navigate to My Popups in the left sidebar

  2. Locate the popup you want to analyze

  3. View the performance metrics in the Performance column

Each popup displays three key metrics:

  • Views - How many times this specific popup has been shown

  • Clicks - The number of clicks this popup has received

  • Hovers - How many times visitors hovered over this popup

Understanding Your Popup Performance

The Performance column gives you immediate insight into how each popup is performing. Compare these metrics across different popups to identify which campaigns are most effective.

What the Metrics Mean

High views with low clicks may indicate that your popup is being shown frequently but the call-to-action or design needs improvement.

High hovers with low clicks suggests visitors are interested but not compelled to take action. Consider refining your offer or messaging.

Balanced metrics across all three typically indicates a well-performing popup that engages visitors effectively.

Popup Details

Each popup in your list displays:

  • Popup preview - A thumbnail showing how your popup appears

  • Title - The notification ID or custom name you've assigned

  • Type - What kind of customer activity triggers the popup (Recent Orders, Add to Cart, etc.)

  • Placement - Where the popup appears on your pages and its position (All Pages, Bottom Left, etc.)

  • Performance - The three key metrics mentioned above

  • Actions - Quick access to Edit, Duplicate, or Delete the popup

Monitoring Multiple Popups

If you're running multiple popup campaigns simultaneously, the My Popups page allows you to compare performance across all active popups. This helps you identify which types of notifications and placements work best for your store.

Tips for Better Analytics

Give popups time to gather data - Wait at least a few days before making decisions based on analytics, especially for stores with lower traffic.

Test different placements - Create duplicate popups with different placements to see which positions generate the most engagement.

Monitor activation status - Ensure popups show as "Activated" in the Actions column. Inactive popups won't generate any metrics.

Track seasonal trends - Performance may vary based on traffic patterns, sales events, or seasonal shopping behavior.
